I already made a similar proposal some months ago.
Two german companies made a special offer about porting a game ("Ankh") for 
Linux - but only if there was at least a certain number of advance bookings.
That's just what Xara could do. It would be best for both customers and Xara, 
I guess.
Customers will only have to pay if the programm will actually be ported and 
Xara can be sure to sell this new version.
(BTW: I totally agree with Mr. William Thoimson)
