True, but this is not the way FreeBSD ports work. A make clean will
wipe out the whole "work" directory which contains the unzipped archive
or svn co'd sources.
Further, users may have limited internet access and it is best to keep
download protocols to the most common www and ftp.
Testing can show the presence of bugs, but not their absence.
