I personally would buy it immediately.

Last year, the German companies ixsoft (http://www.ixsoft.de) and Runesoft 
(http://rune-soft.com) started a campaign called „More Games for Linux“. They 
made an offer to the community: „If there will be at least 100 binding 
subscriptions, we will port the Game »Ankh« to Linux“.
Maybe that's what Xara could do, too.
Collect binding (!) subscriptions and - if there are enough - acutally port 
the commercial version to Linux.

(BTW: Ankh has been ported ;-) )
